The construction is under way. The masons have worked hard to complete another stage of the building. We continue to pray that the work can continue and the building will soon be completed. But with mixing all cement by hand and making all the blocks by hand, the task becomes time consuming. We praise the Lord that we have a great crew that work very diligently with us.
His Eyes Follow US October 15, 2007
Pro. 5: 21-23 “For a man’s ways are before the eyes of the LORD, and he watches all his paths. The iniquities of the wicked ensnare him, and he is caught in the toils of his sin. He dies for lack of discipline, and because of his great folly he is lost.”
Creole: 5:21-22 “Seyè a wè tou sa w’ap fè. Kote ou pase, je l’ sou ou. Mechanste mechan yo se yon pèlen pou pwòp tèt yo. Sa yo pare pou lòt moun, se yo menm li rive. Y’ap mouri paske yo pa konn kontwole tèt yo. Y’ap peri paske yo fin pèdi tèt yo nèt.”
A few weeks ago, I wrote about discipline, and how wisdom is a choice we need to make. We need to become people infatuated with the way of wisdom, and strive to be people of excellence.
Proverbs 5 speaks clearly on the danger of an undisciplined life. It specifically teaches us the dangers of falling into the trap of sexual sins. We need only look around us and see that Satan is using this stronghold to tempt us, and especially youth. It is so vital that we develop a life of discipline in the friendships we have, and not be taken down the wrong path.
God sees everything we do. Wherever we go, His eyes follow us God will see when we stray. Nothing, NOTHING is hidden from him. So why choose the way of folly? Why be unfaithful?
Sometimes we do err. We are human, we do stray. We lack discipline. My favorite verses are in Lamentations 3:19-23, stronghold of my faith. “I remember my affliction and bitterness, the wormwood and the gall. My soul continually thinks of it and is bowed down within me. But this I call to mind and therefore I have hope. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness.” The 1st part is quite humiliating when I remember the bitterness I had in my heart and life, and how it must have sorrowed my God. But the wonderful promise in the verses 21-23, is what I cling to. God is always there every day, with love we cannot fathom. Should this not be motivation for staying, and not straying??
Proverbs 5 explains the consequences of a lifestyle of folly. Though we make mistakes, his love is steady. His love is like the rhythm of the waves, or the sun rising. It doesn’t change.
Friends, We aren’t in practice mode. We are living this one life for real, and for good. It’s the only “shot” we have. We do make mistakes as we live our lives. But we must always guard our hearts, and our minds lest our mistakes become our lives. We must leave the world a better place then the way we found it. Not for us, but for our Savior.
Let’s give the Lord our very Lives.
“ Carpe Diem: seize the day”.. It is the only one you know you have.
Stay faithful, you are in my heart.
Rachel
